On The Exhale was developed at the Ojai Playwrights Conference: Robert Egan, Artistic Director/Producer.
The play was also developed, in part, by the Goodman Theatre, Chicago as part
of the New Stages Festival.

Emily Vitrano - Woman
Emily is thrilled to be making her Vanguard debut in ON THE EXHALE. Her most recent credits include Corie in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK; Marjorie in THE MOORS; and Meg in L'APPARTEMENT at Renaissance Theaterworks. Emily has worked regionally at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Next Act Theatre, Renaissance Theaterworks, and Allentown Shakespeare in the Park. She has appeared in a national commercial for Batteries/Bulbs Plus, and regional commercials for Mills Fleet Farm, Sanford Brown University, and Walgreens. When not onstage, Emily relishes her time teaching and coaching the craft of acting as an Assistant Professor of Acting at UWM. She holds an MFA in Acting from Northern Illinois University and is a proud member of Actors' Equity. She would like to thank Annika for walking alongside her through this piece. Caroline Hansen is thrilled to be a part of her first production with Vanguard Productions! You may have recently seen her as Maureen in Outskirts Theatre's production of RENT. Some of her favorite past shows include THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL (CTM) and HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL (University Theatre). Annika Perez-Krikorian, Director
Annika is the current Literary Director at Milwaukee Rep, overseeing the John (Jack) D. Lewis New Play Development program. She has previously worked at Playwrights Horizons, Seattle Rep, and 5th Avenue Theatre. Favorite credits include: Next to Normal, Constellations, and we will eat your grief (Director), Indecent, True West, Parental Advisory a break beat play, And Then There Were None (Assistant Director/Associate Director). She is a graduate of Gonzaga University and an alumnus of the National Theater Institute's Advanced Directing program, where she was a Miranda Family Fellow. annikalpk.com

K, Stage Manager
Liv Mauseth (they/he/she) is a Milwaukee based stage manager. Some previous shows they’ve stage managed are: MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE, ANTIGONE, ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914 (Vanguard Productions); TOIL AND TROUBLE (Sunstone Studios); JULIUS CAESAR, RICHARD III, and MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM (Bard and Bourbon); and a virtual reading of LOVE AND INFORMATION in partnership with the Girl Scouts of America. They were the assistant stage manager for the staged reading of LE/LA by Liz Shipe (Milwaukee Chamber Theater), and in 2017, the regional International Championship of High School A Cappella competition.

Amelia Strahan, Costume Designer
Amelia is a Milwaukee based Costume Designer and Technician and this is her second season designing ALL IS CALM for Vanguard Productions. You may have previously seen her work at Summit Players Theatre, Next Act Theatre, Florentine Opera Company, UW-Milwaukee Dance Department, and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Currently, Amelia is serving as the Interim Assistant Costume Director at Milwaukee Repertory Theater. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Costume Design from Marquette University and a minor in Studio Art through MIAD. She hopes you enjoy the show! Elliott Brotherhood, Sound Designer
Elliott is thrilled to be working with Vanguard again for this production of Lungs. Elliott is a voice actor and sound designer based in Chicago, IL. Select voice credits include: GREAT BATTLES FOR BOYS as Ranger and Boom (Pastime Pictures, YouTube), CLOSE YOUR EYES as Dylan Hall (Crytic Radio, all podcast platforms), The Saints as various roles (Relevant Radio/The Merry Beggars, Saturdays and Sundays on Relevant Radio WSJP-FM 100.1 FM and all podcast platforms), as well as many others. Elliott is also the founder of a Milwaukee-based audio production company, Secret Handshake Productions, where he penned scripts and sound-designed stories such as TALES OF DREAD AND DARKNESS, MORDRED, CATCHING THE NORTHERN LIGHTS, 221B: ADVENTURES OF THE BAKER STREET IRREGULARS, JAMES: THE STORY OF CAPTAIN HOOK, THE WOMBAT, and more. Elliott would like to thank Matt and George for the opportunity to help bring Lungs to life for Milwaukee audiences.

Kailey Azure Green, Intimacy Director
Kailey Azure Green (they/them) is an actor, choreographer, fight director, and intimacy director. They were recently seen in Milwaukee in the title role of Henry V with Wisconsin Classic Stage. Their recent intimacy direction credits include THE RIVALS (American Players Theatre), DRY LAND (Ego Death Theatre Collective), and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Grassroots Shakespeare DC). Their choreography credits include HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (An Other Theatre Company), MEN I’M NOT MARRIED TO and ROMEO AND JULIET (Santa Cruz Shakespeare Company). Previous fight director credits include NEWSIES (Scera Theater), JULIUS CAESAR (UVU), ROMEO AND JULIET (Grassroots Shakespeare Company). Kailey is Assistant Faculty and Executive Assistant with Theatrical Intimacy Education.

Jared Brandt Hoover, Company Manager
Jared is a proud core member of Vanguard, he has been with them since the very beginning with the first “All is Calm.” Jared has also been seen in Milwaukee and Madison regionally in productions at the Milwaukee Rep, Skylight Music Theater, Renaissance Theaterworks, Outskirts Theatre Co. and Forward Theater. He feels incredibly blessed that he continues to make art with his good friends and would like to specially thank George and Joshua for their support and kinship both on and off the stage. Jared also owes his gratitude to Mom, Dad, Ethan, Conor, Vicki, Mimi and Papaw for always guiding me in the right direction.
